Motorist should try and avoid the A2 after a multi-vehicle crash.

The smash happened on the coast-bound carriageway before 7pm.

One carriageway is blocked due to the crash which happened between the A227 Wrotham Road junction for Gravesend and Henhurst Road and the Cobham Services, Thong turn-off.

Congestion is back to the M25 Junction 2 for the Darenth Interchange.

Lanes one and four of four were reportedly blocked initially, but all traffic has now been stopped while the emergency services attend the scene.

It is thought at least three vehicles are involved put some reports from the scene suggest six vehiclese were involved.

Driver are facing delays of about 40 minutes.

It is not known at this stage if anyone has been seriously injured.
