Murder investigation launched after man found in St Patrick's Gardens, Gravesend

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man, who was found injured last night, died this morning.

Officers were called to St Patrick’s Gardens at 7.56pm to assist a 31-year-old who had suffered injuries to his head and stomach.

He was taken to King's College Hospital for treatment but died this morning.

The victim, from the Cranbrook area, is believed to have travelled by car from a private address in Taunton Vale just three minutes away before being overcome by his injuries and coming to a stop of an area of open space.

South East Coast Ambulance Service sent an ambulance to the scene after being called regarding a car crash.

Paramedics working alongside the crew of the air ambulance and the victim had to be resuscitated before being flown to hospital with serious injuries, the nature of which were unclear.

It is unclear at this stage exactly how he was injured.

No arrests have been made but inquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing.
