A woman who made up to £10,000 a month by selling nude photos on OnlyFans said despite a u-turn on an explicit content ban she may turn her back on the site for good.

Miki-rose, from Gravesend, has been using the website, where fans pay creators for their photos and videos, on and off since she was 18.

Miki-rose has been selling content on OnlyFans since she was 18 years-old

Now 21, she goes by Kaiju online and can make five figure sums thanks to her content.

She's had her current account since January last year and sells lingerie photos and racier content, such as toy play and some boy/girl content, to subscribers.

But OnlyFans, known for its adult content, announced it would ban sexually explicit images and videos from Friday, October 1.

People would have still been able to post nude content on the website but would have needed to make sure they complied with the company’s updated policies.

While chief executive Tim Stokely has now performed a u-turn after a backlash, the proposal left many creators in limbo and seeking new platforms to migrate to.

But for Miki-rose it might be too late and she may turn her back on OnlyFans for good.

Speaking before the u-turn she said: "Honestly it feels like a kick in the teeth.

"Sex workers are the lifeblood of the site, so to restrict our content to the point we have to leave the site altogether is ridiculous.

"I’m not particularly worried. The new restrictions are the same as the ones Patreon [an American membership platform] introduced a couple of years ago which resulted in a lot of creators leaving the site for OnlyFans funnily enough.

"There will always be an alternative."

Miki-rose said the ban convinced a couple of people to subscribe to her content for the first time.

She's also had other people buy all the posts they’d been undecided on. A lot of creators, including Kaiju, began closing down sales.

Miki-rose feels the OnlyFans ban on sexually explicit content is a "kick in the teeth"

OnlyFans said in a statement: “In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform, and continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines.

“These changes are to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers.

“We will be sharing more details in the coming days, and we will actively support and guide our creators through this change in content guidelines.”

Miki-rose feels she is going to see a drop in subscribers as she moves to a new platform and believes her earnings will most likely take a big dip too.

She continued: "I can't predict how much money I'll be losing at this point.

Although people will still be able to post nude content on the website they will need to make sure they are consistent with the company’s updated policies

"I’m giving free trials on my new platforms to everyone with an unfinished subscription so at least my fans won’t lose any money."

When the changes are made at the beginning of October Miki-rose does have the option to do something else, but for now, she is choosing to transfer over to Fansly and Pocketstars.

After October 1, she will be deleting her OnlyFans accounts.

She explained: "The only thing I can do to pick up the slack is promote like crazy to build up the new platforms and hope the majority of my subs make the transition too.

"I’m transferring over most of my OnlyFans content to my new platforms and I’m busy stocking up on new content for them."

Miki-rose doesn't feel that the ban is an attack on sex workers

Some sex workers and OnlyFans users believe the ban will push those working in the sex trade to other, less safe, spaces.

But Miki-rose said: "I don’t think it’s a direct attack on sex workers even though it may feel like it. It was a business decision that will definitely have repercussions though."

Speaking after the u-turn she added: “I’m not totally surprised by the changes not going ahead. It was a bad decision in the first place and I don’t think they took into consideration how many creators would boycott them and force their hand.

"Pretty sure for a lot of people this was the last straw in their decision to leave the site or the industry altogether. At this point in time I’m not sure if I’ll continue to use the site or transition fully.”

Yesterday, Mr Stokely blamed "unfair banks" closing accounts associated with sex work with the ban.

Today he has performed a u-turn on the policy after a backlash from creators like Miki-rose.

The site tweeted: "Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard.

"We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change.

"OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators."
