Person killed at Mark Lane foot crossing, Gravesend

A person killed at a foot crossing in Gravesend was a 57-year-old man, it's been confirmed.

The British Transport Police and Kent Police said they were called to the foot crossing close to Mark Lane at 7.15am on Saturday to reports a person had been hit by a train.

The victim was from Gravesend and his death is not being treated as suspicious.

Gravesend railway station was closed following the discovery.
