She may only be five-years-old but Isabel He is already exhibiting her own art.

The pint-sized Picasso is part of the Gravesham Arts organisation and is the group's youngest ever artist to display their work.

Isabel, a student at Holy Trinity CE Primary School, has been drawing since she was two and is never seen without a sketchbook at hand.

The Year 1 pupil from Marriotts Wharf in Gravesend, is this year's Tony Larkin Memorial Prize winner. The annual competition for young artists is named after the late Gravesend historian, who passed away in 2018.

Isabel's father, Daniel Lacey, a quantity surveyor, said: "Isabel always had a talent, and with her mother being an art editor, I think that factor helped.

"After moving here, she really enjoyed exploring the Gravesend Art Centre."

Isabel didn't know she had won the competition as she didn't enter herself, Gravesham Arts did.

Daniel added: "Isabel was really happy when she found out she'd won.

"We hope her artistic career can take off from here."

Isabel has also won an art competition at a Hull Gallery and hopes to compete more in the future.

The exhibition will take place at the St Andrew's Art Centre, Royal Pier Road, Gravesend on January, Saturday, 18 and Sunday, 19.
