Police probe two attacks

Part of a Kent town was cordoned off after two separate assaults.

The first was a serious sexual attack on a teenage girl which was reported at around 9.30pm on Friday. Gravesend's Darnley Road was taped off near A.B.C Self-Drive.

Then at around 5am Saturday, police were called to reports of a fight near McDonald's in New Road.

A 28-year-old man was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with a head injury.

On Saturday afternoon his condition was described as stable. His injury is not thought to be life-threatening.

New Road is open to shoppers.
