Harvester in Rochester Road, Gravesend, closed by police

The Harvester in Gravesend was closed by police today following an attempted burglary.

Officers and a forensics van were seen outside the popular family restaurant in Rochester Road this morning.

They were called after would-be burglars attempted to raid the branch in the early hours.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police is investigating reports of an attempted burglary at a restaurant in Rochester Road, Gravesend, at 5.23am.

"It is not believed that anything was stolen."

Sarah Supernanny Partridge posted on community group Gravesend News: "Anyone know what's happened at the Harvester?

"I went there for breakfast this morning and it was shut and had police and forensics there."

The restaurant was shut early this morning, but had re-opened by 9.30am.
