A man has been charged with drug and other offences after police seized more than £50,000 after a series of searches.

Officers had their attention drawn to a car in the Ifield Road area of Gravesend at around 10am last Thursday.

Police arrested a driver after around £20,000 in cash was found in a car

It is reported the driver tried fleeing the scene when asked by police to stop. He was said to have been driving dangerously and almost hit officers.

The driver was arrested and when the car was searched £20,000 in cash and some powder, believed to be MDMA, was found.

Following the arrest, police then conducted a search warrant at a residential property in Lanters Way, London, where they recovered a further £34,000 in cash.
