Pupils from Northfleet School for Girls take part in Rotary Technology Tournament

Pupils from Northfleet School for Girls showed off their problem-solving and construction skills during a competition against other Kent schools.

More than 50 youngsters aged 11 to 19 took part in the first regional Rotary Technology Tournament to take place in the county, during which they tested their aptitude in design, technology, and engineering.

The challenges saw the contestants designing two bridges, one fixed and one movable.

In the end schools from Medway and Sittingbourne came out on top – Rainham Girls’ Grammar School in the 11 to 14 age group and Westlands School in the 14 to 16 and 16 to 19 age groups, but it was a rewarding experience for all involved.
