Pushy parents raise £20,000

Published: 00:01, 04 July 2013

Mums, dads, grandparents and carers stepped out for a baby buggy race around Bluewater on Sunday and raised a whopping £20,000 for charity.

The ramble around the shopping centre grounds was to raise money for Tommy’s, a charity which funds medical research into pregnancy complications.

The sponsored push was organised by Buggyfit an outdoor fitness class created for mums to exercise with their babies in the pram or buggy.

About 200 people wheeled their little ones around an 8k route.

The charity pays for research into the causes of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage and provides free information to parents-to-be.
