A main road through Northfleet was closed for several hours after a fuel spillage.
The A226 Thames Way was shut in both directions from about 10am this morning while emergency repairs were carried out.
Vale Road, near the police station, was also shut as a result.
All roads had reopened by 12.30pm.
Traffic was reported to be coping well with congestion on routes through Northfleet.
It comes after an incident earlier this week on the same road involving a crash between a tanker and a car.
