Cash4Clubs is a grassroots sports scheme, run by Flutter Entertainment, which provides grants to help small clubs purchase new equipment, gain coaching qualifications and improve facilities.

Recognising the significant impact that Covid-19 has had on finances, the maximum grant available was increased to £5,000 and a total of £165,000 has been allocated this year.

The charitable scheme is open to all local sports clubs in the UK and Ireland.

Following their successful application, members of Gravesend Dynamite, based at the Northfleet Youth Centre, in Hall Road, will be spending the cash on much-needed equipment and offering opportunities for children from local schools to participate in wheelchair rugby league.

Club founder Jason Owen said: "We are incredibly grateful to Cash4Clubs and Flutter Entertainment.

"Their passion for investing in local communities will make a huge difference to our members and also increase our ability to develop opportunities for inclusive sport for young people in Gravesham.

"I am particularly grateful that they have recognised the important work we have done in keeping our community active and will support us in continuing this beyond the pandemic.

"Without this kind of commitment, many sports clubs would not be able to offer the vast opportunities we do.

"Many thanks to Cash4Clubs and Flutter Entertainment."
