A Maidstone girl is among a work syndicate celebrating a lottery win.

Twenty-year-old Amy Beech was one of a 28-strong syndicate to pick up just shy of £80,000 from the weekend's lotto draw.

The colleagues, who work for Morrison Utility Services in Chatham, matched five numbers and the bonus ball, winning £79,887.

The winning ticket was bought by syndicate manager, Callum Crosier, 24, from a store in Gravesend.

He said: "We've only been playing in a syndicate since February so we weren't expecting to win anything for a while so this is great.

"I'm a Chelsea fan so I've bought my season ticket in one go and a laptop but obviously we'd love to win really big. We'll keep playing and who knows, maybe next time it will be £79 million!"

Other members of the syndicate are either still deciding how to spend their £2,853 share - or have already spent it!

William Cook, 24, from Lordswood is looking to buy an iPAD and possibly a new car, Richard Seemann, 44, from Chatham, has paid off a new porch for his house while Amy has bought an iPAD and clothes and put some away for a rainy day.

Holidays are top of the list for some while others are saving.

Lorraine Popple, 25, from Gillingham, is putting her share towards a deposit for a new home and Terry Ladley, 61, from Faversham, will invest his.
