Teen in court charged with Darenth newsagent robbery

Cannabis-user Tara Crayden has been spared jail

A teenager accused of raiding a family-run newsagent in Darenth has appeared at Maidstone Crown Court.

Aaron Nayler, of Leonard Robbins Path, Thamesmead, is alleged to have robbed Lane End News in Lane End in February.

The 19-year-old, who appeared by TV link with Elmley Prison, Sheppey, was refused bail and remanded in custody until May 20, when a plea is due to be entered.

About £2,500 was stolen in the raid by three men. Victoria Palmer, 25, who ran the business with her sister Kelly and mother Kim, said it had forced them to close after 10 years.
