A young woman had to be cut free from a car this afternoon after an accident at a roundabout in Gravesend.

Fire crews from Thames-side and Dartford had to remove the roof of the vehicle to rescue the passenger, who is thought to be in her teens. She was treated for a suspected neck injury.

The other people in the car, including the driver, managed to get out unaided. No other vehicle was involved.

The crash in Wrotham Road at the junction of Coldharbour Road happened at about 2.15pm.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: "We would advise people to check over their vehicles before going out in these slippery conditions."
