Gravesend RNLI lifeboat

Three men jumped off a smoke-filled boat, believing there was a fire on board last night.

Gravesend RNLI were called out to the vessel on the Thames at 5.52pm.

Once the crew reached the smokey boat it was found that the exhaust had parted and filled the cabin with smoke - but that there was no fire on board.

The three men had beached the boat, jumped out, and made there way safely to shore in the area of Jenningtree Point, towards Crayford.
