THREE fires took hold overnight on a Gravesend estate.

Police are appealing for information on the trio of fires which were dealt with by crews from Gravesend and Dartford fire stations.

Two fires happened at unoccupied houses in Ferguson Avenue on the Kings Farm estate around 9.30pm on Thursday night.

The third fire started in a garage in nearby Poplar Avenue and was extinguished around the same time as the other two fires.

Both houses are due to be demolished and severe damage was caused by the flames.

A joint investigation into the cause has been launched by police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service. A detailed examination of all three scenes has taken place.

Police say it is unclear at the moment if the garage fire is linked to the other two house fires.

Anyone with information is asked to ring DI Ian Dampier on 01474 366098 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
