Image setting up shop to replace shuttered BHS store in Gravesend

A new retailer appears to be setting up shop in the space left vacant by one of Gravesend’s oldest stores.

BHS left the town last summer after the company went into administration and the unit has been empty ever since, but this week signage has been unveiled for a stored called Image to replace it.

The frontage suggests that it will offer living, dining, and bedroom furniture and decorations, including ornaments, carpets, rugs, and flooring.

An opening date is not yet known. The Gravesend Messenger contacted Gravesham council for comment but has not yet had a response.

Workmen have been seen in-store arranging stock and taking down logos and signs from brands that called BHS their home, including Dorothy Perkins.

The Gravesend BHS store closed for the final time in July last year, with all 163 nationwide closed by August 20.
