Party girl: Haniska Pett

A 20-year-old self-confessed party girl has died suddenly after taking cocaine.

Haniska Pett’s sudden death has led her older brother to warn of the dangers of taking the Class-A drug.

Fun-loving Haniska, from Gravesend, was rushed to Darent Valley Hospital on Sunday afternoon following an adverse reaction to the illegal stimulant.

Sadly the 20-year-old died soon after arrival.

Her parents Ian, 48, and Angela, 45, and older brother Joe, 22, of Valley Drive, have been left shell-shocked by her sudden death and gravely concerned whether the drug Haniska took was contaminated with other substances, creating a deadly combination.

Joe Pett said: "I was told by police that there could have been speed and ecstasy mixed in the cocaine. She had taken cocaine before, but had always been fine. I had stopped her from doing it. I didn’t realise she had to started to use again."

Joe’s nightmare began on Sunday after receiving a call from Haniska’s frantic friend who told him his little sister was having a fit.

The 22-year-old rushed round to the house in Huntley Avenue, Northfleet, and found his only sibling in a terrible state.

Joe is now urging others to be aware of the dangers of taking cocaine. He said: "My sister loved life and wanted to enjoy it. Whenever she was out she would always get people up and dancing. She loved to laugh and had a great smile.

"I’m keen to let people know of the dangers. I don’t want any more people getting hurt."

Inquiries by Kent Police are ongoing into the causes surrounding Haniska’s death.
