Rail services from Gravesend delayed as police attend incident

Rail services from Kent into London were disrupted this morning as police were attending an emergency incident.

Police were sent to the scene at Gravesend at 7.30am.

Rail operator Southeastern warned anyone travelling to Stratford International to attend the athletics at the London Stadium would face delays.

They tweeted just before 10.30am to the train line had reopened but warned services between Gravesend and Strood could be delayed, altered or cancelled at short notice.

British Transport Police confirmed this morning that a person had been killed at the foot crossing in Mark Lane, Gravesend.
