An animal rescue centre that works closely with a Northfleet veterinary clinic took a big hit after Storm Ciara ripped through its grounds and destroyed shelters.

New Hope Animal Rescue in Herne Bay relies on donations to save death row animals from pounds and vets, as well as injured stray animals that can't find help elsewhere.

Working closely with The shrubbery vet centre in Northfleet, New Hope are always in need of donations to cover things such as neutering, vaccination's, I.D. chipping, medical and kennel bills, food, bedding and fuel costs for transporting.

Storm Ciara caused havoc throughout the county, and after the weekend the charity took to Facebook explaining that the storm had hit them hard, but thankfully all the animals were okay.

New Hope Animal Rescue, said: "After a year on the new site relentless blood, sweat and tears trying to get this place closer and closer to where it needs to be we’ve taken a bit of a hammering.

"It’ll take a while to recover from this physically and financially but the show must go on."
