A young boy has been seriously injured in a hit and run crash in Northfleet.

The child was riding a bicycle in Coldharbour Road when he was knocked down by a white Audi.

Police were called but the driver fled before officers arrived. The car was last seen heading towards the roundabout for the A2.

The boy was taken to hospital with a serious injury but has since been released.

The crash happened at around 2.45pm on Saturday, and police have now issued an appeal for witnesses.
