Ebbsfleet United have clinched their second new signing in less than 24 hours.

They've agreed a deal for winger John Goddard having brought in Stevenage midfielder James Ball on Monday.

Fleet boss Garry Hill now has 12 players signed up with just under three weeks to go until the start of the season.

Goddard, who played for Ebbsfleet against Tottenham's under-23s on Saturday, has worked with Hill before.

He was Woking's top scorer and player-of-the-year in 2015/16, when Hill was in charge at Kingfield, and has since played in the Football League for Swindon and Stevenage.

Goddard spent the first half of last season on loan at Bromley before leaving Stevenage in January to sign for Aldershot.

It's been a hectic summer of transfer dealings for Hill with most of last season's squad having moved on as part of a financial restructure.

Fleet have also signed defenders Jamie Grimes, Aswad Thomas and Ayo Obileye, midfielder Alex Lawless and striker Gozie Ugwu, who finished last season on loan at Stonebridge Road.

Out have gone the likes of Danny Kedwell, Dean Rance and Dave Winfield while Ebou Adams and Corey Whitely have been snapped up by Football League clubs.

Goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore remains at Ebbsfleet with Jack King, Lawrie Wilson and Myles Weston the other survivors from 2018/19 while Cody McDonald is also due to be part of Hill's squad when he recovers from knee surgery.

Ebbsfleet host Championship new boys Charlton on Tuesday night, kick-off 7.30pm.
