Ayo Obileye hailed Ebbsfleet's team spirit after his first goal for the club earned them a precious point at Dover.

Obileye was in the right place at the right time and finished like a striker when the ball dropped to him in the box.

The 25-year-old was Garry Hill's first summer signing and he's seen enough to know Fleet can get out of trouble.

Obileye said: "I came at the start and there was only a few of us but from minute one, we’ve always given our heart on the pitch and at the training ground.

"Now we’ve got the squad, I think we’ll kick on from here. The boys are great and the team spirit in the changing-room is good.

"On the pitch, it might show the opposite but everyone has a bad run sometimes, that’s how football is.

"We’ve had our bad run but we’re changing that. We got the result on Tuesday which is proof that we’re changing it and the results before with the win and other draw shows that as well.

"I think we can kick on from now and keep putting the hard graft in and showing the fans what we can do."

Obileye has spent most of his career in defence but Hill has used him mainly as a midfielder so far.

"I can play in both positions," he said. "I’ve been playing centre-back most of my time but I’ve got good features to play in midfield and I’ve got an eye for goal as well.

"It’s good having the versatility to play in different positions and the gaffer knows he can trust me. Whenever I’m put on the pitch, I’ll give 100%."
