Gravesham Borough Council have backed Ebbsfleet United's plans to transform Stonebridge Road.

The club have been granted full planning permission for the redevelopment of what is now the Liam Daish Stand and outline planning approval for the other three sides of the ground.

At a meeting on Wednesday night, the council committee voted unanimously to grant approval and building work at the ground is likely to start next month.

This new main stand will replace the Liam Daish Stand which runs along Stonebridge Road

The club is also set to complete the purchase of Stonebridge Road within the next seven days.

Fleet vice-chairman Peter Varney said: "This is a major step in the future progression of this football club.

"I’d like to thank in particular the design team who have been fantastic and also note the help and support of the council members in the vote tonight.

"Also credit to Peter Price and his planning team who have worked tirelessly on the details to enable us to get to this point."
