ANDY DRURY: Liam Daish has told him to concentrate on his football

GRAVESEND'S unsettled Andy Drury has been urged by manager Liam Daish to concentrate on his football and win back a place in the starting line-up.

The 21-year-old midfielder had been constantly linked with moves away from Stonebridge Road after asking for a transfer last month, but the chance of a move have gone with the closing of the transfer window.

League 2 side Barnet were strongly linked after manager Paul Fairclough went to watch Drury at Grays, although the player was kept on the bench.

But against Southport on Saturday he replaced the injured Charlie MacDonald at half- time and was influential in the side's first home league win of the season, playing out of position up front.

Daish, who has had to fend off questions about Drury's future in recent weeks, said: "I asked Andy to play up front against Southport and thought he was a revelation.

"The transfer window has closed and won’t open until Christmas. Now I hope that Andy settles down and concentrates on his football."
