BRACE: Charlie MacDonald

Exeter City 1 Gravesend & Northfleet 3

A FIRST half treble from Gravesend set them on their way to a comfortable Nationwide Conference victory at Exeter on Saturday.

The home side started the brighter of the two and almost went ahead on eight minutes when Jon Challinor struck the post.

But Fleet took the lead against the run of play after 18 minutes when Luke Moore played in Charlie MacDonald, who finished sweetly.

It was 2-0 10 minutes later when a half clearance fell to Moore who sent a superb shot from the edge of the area into the back of the net.

Liam Daish's side were three up before half-time when a terrible defensive mix-up allowed Moore to square the ball to MacDonald to score again.

Challinor scored a second half consolation for Exeter eight minutes from time, but they never looked likely to stage a comeback.
