John Akinde netted the Fleet winner

Ebbsfleet picked up their first win in three league games with a 2-1 victory over Cambridge United in the Blue Square Premier on Monday.

Cambridge were forced to play most of the game with 10-men after goalkeeper Danny Potter was sent-off for bringing down John Akinde on 26 minutes.

The visitors had no substitute keeper on the bench so defender Mark Peters was forced to take the gloves.

And his first job was to pick the ball out of the net when Chris McPhee fired home from the spot.

Cambridge drew level six minutes later when Wayne Hatswell headed home Courtney Pitt's free-kick.

In the second half, Fleet took the game to Cambridge and were eventually rewarded for their pressure when John Akinde latched onto a pass from McPhee before firing the ball into the bottom left corner.
