DAISH: "It’s a move that could well become permanent down the line"

GRAVESEND manager Liam Daish has spoken of his delight at getting striker Onome Sodje back in the squad.

Daish thought the 18-year-old frontman had played his last game for Fleet back in early January when he returned to his club Charlton to prepare for an FA Youth Cup tie.

He picked up an injury while back at the Premiership club and there were indications he would join Welling United when fit again.

But Daish brought him back to Stonebridge Road and was rewarded when the Nigerian-born marksman scored the opening goal in the 2-0 win at Kidderminster.

Daish said: "It’s good to have him back in the squad. I put a call in and found out he was available. It’s a move that could well become permanent down the line.

"He took his goal well at Kidderminster and there is more to come from him once he can get match fit."
