Ebbsfleet manager Steve Brown has several more new signings lined up – but former Dartford defender Mark Arber is not one of them.

The 35-year-old, who turned down a new deal at Princes Park this summer, wants to stay in part-time football and hinted at a possible move across north Kent.

Arber posted on Twitter: “Is it bad practice so sign for one of your former clubs arch enemy?”

Fleet supporters picked up on the tweet and so did Brown, who confirmed there had been no contact with the former Dagenham & Redbridge captain.

He said: “I did hear about that. That sent the rumour-mill into overdrive. At the moment, Mark’s not on my list of players to sign. I haven’t had any communication with Mark at all except one text from his agent.

“I’ve made a lot of signings in a short space of time and it’s now becoming more sporadic because I’m narrowing it down to specific positions.

“I’ve got three or four in the pipeline and I’m hoping for news before the weekend. Players are now on holiday and they’ve got other clubs to speak to as well.”
