Matt Godden has returned to Ebbsfleet United and manager Steve Brown now has 18 players signed up for next season.

Godden, 22, turned down a new deal at Scunthorpe United to sign for the Fleet, where he's spent two spells on loan in recent years. The striker was also loaned out to Dartford last season.

He's one of four new arrivals at Stonebridge Road, alongside defender Kenny Clark and midfielders Tom Fraser and Matt Johnson.

Clark played for Dartford last season but he failed to agree terms for a second term at Princes Park and will instead line up against the Darts in the north Kent derby in Conference South.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Fraser has Football League experience with Brighton & Hove Albion, Port Vale and Barnet. He had two spells at Whitehawk, either side of a stint Down Under with Melbourne Knights in Australia's Victorian Premier League.

Johnson, 24, played against the Fleet for Bishop's Stortford last season. having started his career with Harlow, he went on to play for Erith, Rushden & Diamonds, Dover Athletic and Braintree Town.

Brown has also agreed new deals with five more members of last season's squad.

Goalkeepers Preston Edwards and Brandon Hall, midfielders Daryl McMahon and Dean Rance and striker Ben May have all penned new contracts for the 2014-15 campaign.

They join Anthony Acheampong, Michael West, Shane Huke, Joe Howe, Michael Corcoran, Anthony Cook, Aiden Palmer, Chris Sessegnon and Alex Osborn in Brown's squad.
