DAISH: "I haven't finished in the transfer market"

GRAVESEND are being linked with a move for Farnborough's England non-league international goalkeeper Craig Holloway.

Fleet's goalkeeper coach Ron Hillyard missed the 1-1 friendly draw at Lymington and was spotted watching Farnborough's match at nearby Brockenhurst.

He left disappointed as Holloway played one half in an easy 4-0 win.

He played against the Fleet in last season's win at Farnborough in April.

Manager Liam Daish, however, is unlikely to be deterred and will check Holloway's form again in his search for two full-time goalkeepers.

With Paul Wilkerson and James Pullen having left the club, Daish is faced with a pressing need for genuine goalkeeping competition.

He went some way to resolving the issue by signing former Walsall and Worcester goalkeeper Aaron Kerr. He played for the Fleet boss at Havant and Waterlooville.

Daish said: "I've worked with Aaron before and know he can only get better. I'm certain of that.

"My aim is to have two full-time goalkeepers at the club before the start of the season."

He added: "I haven't finished in the transfer market and we're assessing trialists all the time.

"At the moment we're still to gel as a team, but with four pre-season games left, there is time."

The club play Premiership neighbours Charlton Athletic on Monday, August 8 in a match to celebrate 100 years of football at Stonebridge Road.
