ADRIAN PENNOCK: Fighting fit

GRAVESEND & Northfleet boss Andy Ford says his team's two-week break from league action couldn't have come at a better time as they embark on trying to secure their survival in the Conference.

Fleet, who travel to mid-table outfit Southport on Saturday, lie one place and one point above the drop zone.

Ford admitted: “The break couldn't have come at a better time because we were down to the bare bones as far as fit players were concerned. We've got a few fit again now and I'm hoping to have some more back by Saturday.”

Jimmy Jackson (knee), Justin Skinner (gout) and Liam Hatch (groin) all face late fitness tests. But Aaron Barnett is definitely out with a hamstring strain.

However, Francis Duku could make a welcome return to the first team squad after a long-term ankle injury. Another Fleet defender, who has suffered his fair share of injuries throughout his career is recent signing Adrian Pennock.

Former Gillingham centre-back Adrian Pennock is fit and will start against Southport
