Ebbsfleet boss Garry Hill remains on the hunt for new signings.

He was given the backing to add to his squad earlier this month but insists he won't be rushed into doing a deal.

With club captain Dave Winfield out injured, Fleet have just 17 players to pick from.

Young midfielder Freddy Moncur, whose short-term deal expires this month, was the only squad member not involved at Sutton on Saturday.

But Hill said: "I get on with things.

"I was told three weeks ago what the situation is but you don't go and take a player for the sake of taking a player.

"The squad's been reduced from 24 down to 17, the staff's been reduced from nine down to four and that's for a reason. I think that's probably made us stronger and a closer-knit squad.

"As much as it would be nice to get one or two players in, they've got to be the right players.

"It's not a case of saying 'take a player for the sake of taking a player' or fetch the player in if he's not as good or he's not better than what you've got.

"They've got to be better, they've got to be available and we'll keep moving."
