Stacy Long is enjoying a cup run

STACY LONG already has one eye on Wembley ahead of Ebbsfleet United's FA Trophy third round game against Weymouth on Saturday.

The former Charlton trainee scored twice in Fleet’s 4-1 Blue Square Premier win over the Terras earlier this month, but the 23-year-old is now looking forward to a break from league action.

He said: "That’s the thing you’re aiming for. It’s nice to have a break and concentrate on a cup run. Last year we were involved and had a good run.

"We felt we could have done more when we went out. Hopefully we can take that disappointment and turn it into a positive this year."

Weymouth sacked manager Jason Tindall on Monday, and replaced him with John Hollins the following day, but Long doesn’t believe the change will give Fleet an advantage.

He added: "Some people might look at it and say that it is in our advantage, but they might look at it and think it is in their advantage. From our point of view we can’t think about it. We just have to prepare as we would do normally."
