Osei Sankofa and Stacy Long have been released by Ebbsfleet United.

Sankofa, 29, joined the Fleet in July 2013 and he started the season as back-up to Paul Lorraine and Shane Huke.

But when Huke suffered metatarsal damage in October, Sankofa proved to be a very able deputy and he barely put a foot wrong in what developed into a fine partnership with Lorraine.

Brown signed centre-halves Anthony Acheampong and Yado Mambo after Christmas but still Sankofa was a regular in the Fleet defence, making 38 appearances across the season - more than any of his centre-half colleagues.

But he was left on the bench for the Skrill South play-off final against Dover, with Brown reuniting Lorraine and Huke in central defence.

Long's contract has not been renewed either.

The midfielder, who played in the Fleet's 2008 FA Trophy-winning side, returned to the club last summer but he spent all season on the periphery of Brown's squad.

Long started just seven league games and was loaned out to Eastbourne Borough midway through the campaign.

Three players have now left Stonebridge Road since the end of the season, with Paul Lorraine having also called time on his Fleet career. Brown's side will train three mornings a week next season and Lorraine's work commitments would stop him making that switch.
