Sunday League champs add to trophy collection

GRAVESEND-based Sun FC manager Ian Young had nothing but praise for his players after they added the Kent Sunday Premier Cup to their burgeoning trophy collection.

Young’s players overcame two red cards before holding their nerve in a pulsating penalty shoot-out to defeat Wainscott Arrows, runners-up of the Senior Section of the Medway Messenger League.

With another North Kent Sunday Football League championship secured last month, Young said: "They’ve given me everything. The boys were brilliant.

"We were up against it, but they refused to buckle against a fitter side. But it was nothing I didn’t expect."
