Ebbsfleet can reclaim third place in the Skrill South when they play their first league game for two weeks on Saturday.

Level on points with promotion rivals Sutton, Fleet have been leap-frogged by the U’s since they beat Staines 3-0 at Stonebridge Road on February 15.

They’re back in front of their home fans this weekend when Farnborough are the visitors.

Steve Brown’s side battled to a 1-0 win on a bog of a pitch when the sides met in Hampshire in January but the Ebbsfleet boss knows this will be a different sort of game.

Brown said: "They have players in their side who suffer because of that pitch. Let’s not get bogged down thinking it’s just bad for the team going there.

"They’ve got some good ball players and they suffer because they can’t run with the ball."

Farnborough’s 2-1 midweek victory at Hayes & Yeading was their first win on the road for more than four months.

Brown said: "You can’t read too much into that statistic.

"If they’ve struggled away from home recently, they’ll be looking to put that right and they’ll be more determined to put a win on the board. Farnborough need to win games."
