Ebbsfleet boss Daryl McMahon has warned Dartford his team are out for revenge on New Year’s Day.

The Fleet lost 2-1 to their rivals at Princes Park on Boxing Day but the teams meet again in National League South on Sunday.

The Fleet have home advantage at Stonebridge Road and McMahon said: “I don’t think (that defeat) has a lot of impact.

“Obviously, we’ll be looking for revenge, there’s no doubt about that. We’re not happy with how we played on Boxing Day. We’re looking forward to the home game.

“We start with a clean sheet and go again. We saw in the last 20 minutes (enough) from us, when we were on the front foot and taking the game to them."

Darts fans taunted the Fleet boss with chants of ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ during the second half at Princes Park.

It was only the Fleet’s fourth defeat of the season, however, and they remain 10 points behind leaders Maidenhead after none of the top four picked up a point in the latest round of matches.

“We can only control ourselves and we weren’t good enough to get the three points,” added McMahon. “Simple as that. People will get carried away because we lost. We were probably all right in a way, we just didn’t create enough chances."
