Troubled retailer New Look has announced another store closure, leaving a seaside town with just one national clothes chain.

The shop in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay, will shut on Monday, July 23.

In March, the chain decided to push ahead with plans to close 60 stores across the UK, including two in Kent, slashing 980 jobs in the process.

Herne Bay will be left with just one national clothing retailer after Monday - the Peacocks in Mortimer Street.

The reason for the closure is as yet unknown.

New Look has been approached for a comment.
