A fundraiser has been launched to create a memorial for a loving dad-of-five who died at a supermarket.

David Turner, 35, collapsed and died while shopping at Sainsbury’s in Herne Bay on Saturday, November 14.

He was devoted to his wife, Kymberley, children - Mayzie, Harry, Rubie, Charlie - and stepdaughter Kadie.

Close pal Russell Dunn has started a GoFundMe page to raise £1,000 for David’s family.

Kymberley told KentOnline: “It will go towards Christmas and a memorial for David.

“Because his funeral will be at Barham Crematorium, we want to have something for him. We’ll remember him and love him.”

David, from Talmead Road in Herne Bay, started complaining of chest pains after his car was driven into on November 12. He went to the QEQM Hospital and was later discharged.

But two days later, he fell to the ground after again suffering pain in his chest while shopping for groceries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“It’s amazing seeing the number of people saying they liked David,” Kymberley continued.

“So many people remember him. He spoke to everyone, whether he knew them or not.”

David built a wide-ranging CV which included stints as a chef at the Hungry Horse in Whitstable and The Plough in Herne Bay.

He suffered from a heart attack at the age of 29 and was forced to stop working as a coach driver due to ill-health.

His funeral will take place tomorrow.
