Cyclist dies after fatal collision along A299 Thanet Way, Herne Bay

A 70-year-old man has died after a crash in Herne Bay.

The cyclist, a local man, was involved in an incident with a blue Hyundai i30 on the coast-bound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way on Sunday, January 28 at around 10am.

He was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries after the collision and passed away yesterday.

His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the car, a 43-year-old man from Herne Bay, was arrested in connection with the incident and has now been released under investigation.

The police are reissuing an appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments prior to the collision, who has not yet spoken to police, or who has dash cam footage, to make contact with the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
