A cancer sufferer given just five years to live is renewing her wedding vows next year in a bid to make the most of the time she has left.

Natasha Neame, of Lancaster Gardens, Beltinge, has set up a crowdfunding page aimed at raising more than £1,000 to fund the ceremony.

The 26-year-old – who was diagnosed with rare adrenal cancer after her wedding in 2014 – has had three major operations since January and will start chemotherapy in October.

Mrs Neame said: “I was diagnosed at the beginning of the year – there’s no cure for this cancer.

“My husband and I only got married in 2014, but I was already struggling.

“I gained two stone, had to get a new wedding dress two weeks before the wedding and didn’t dance.”

Mrs Neame, who married Nick, 53, last year, is now living under full-time care from her husband.

She is suffering from adrenal cancer with secondary liver cancer.

Mrs Neame had her adrenal gland and tumour removed in January, before undergoing two further operations later this year.

She added: “My wedding was one of the best days of my life and when you are ill and realise you probably won’t make your 30th, I am going to relive that day again.

“I want a celebration, I want a big festival and party where people can just enjoy it and I can be with my family and friends.

“It’s something to look forward to and plan. My husband is 53 and I thought I would be caring for him one day!

“A lot of people know me and will want to support me but don’t know what to do, so will be nice to get the crowdfunding page out there.”

Mrs Neame and her husband – a former account clerk – have already been offered a DJ, hairstylist and photographer but are still in search of a venue and other aspects.

The pair have set a target of £1,500 via the JustGiving website.

The couple still face paying expensive travel bills to London when Mrs Neame needs treatment.

More than £100 has already been pledged and the pair plan to renew their vows next August.

Mrs Neame said: “This sort of generosity really means so much, I feel I’m not fighting alone.

“All my family and friends are amazing and any extra money raised will be sent to Macmillan Cancer Support. I may not have long left but I am going to make the most of that time.”
