Herne Bay man charged after air ambulance called to Richmond Street attack

A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after the air ambulance had to be called to the scene of a high street attack.

The incident happened in Richmond Street, Herne Bay, just before 5.30pm on Saturday.

An air ambulance was later seen landing in Memorial Park but the victim was taken to hospital by road for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Damien Davies, of Chestnut Drive, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm.

The 40-year-old has been released on bail to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on October 15.
