The fragrance of foreign foods drew hundreds of people to Herne Bay’s continental market.

Stalls filled the seafront packed with cheeses and nuts, meats and pastries, sweets and savouries, as well as clothes, arts, crafts and objets d’art.

Miss Herne Bay Emma Foster and princesses Hannah Kemp and Charlotte Farrant used the occasion for their first public appearance in their new dresses.
