Herne Bay flat fire sparks rescue of man in Station Road

Firefighters have rescued a man from a ground floor flat blaze.

Crews were called to Station Road in Herne Bay shortly before 3.30pm following reports of a fire in the three-storey building.

A man inside the flat was pulled to safety and given oxygen treatment.

Firefighters wearing breathing equipment then tackled the flames with jet hoses.

Ambulance crews were also called to the scene along with police officers, who controlled traffic.

It is not yet known how the fire started.

All emergency crews had left the scene by 4.40pm.
