Man robbed and beaten in Herne Bay

A MAN was beaten up and robbed of £380 in cash in an attack in Herne Bay in the early afternoon on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old needed hospital treatment for cuts and bruises to his face after the incident at a little after 2pm.

The victim reported walking along Victoria Park when he saw two men walking towards him. It is alleged that as they passed they assaulted him with punches and kicks to his head before stealing his wallet containing the cash.

The man was taken to the QEQM Hospital in Margate for treatment to his injuries but was later discharged.

Police have issued a description of the two male suspects.

One is described as white, aged around 20 and about 6ft. He had a shaved head and wore a blue tracksuit top with white lines on the inside of the arms from elbow to hand.

The second man is also thought to be around 20, about 6ft 2ins, slim and with short black untidy hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood down.
