Murder arrest after woman dies at caravan park in Herne Bay

A 63-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenage woman died at a caravan park.

The suspect, a local man, remains in custody this evening after police were called to reports of a serious assault at the site in Canterbury Road, Herne Bay, at 2pm.

The victim, aged in her late teens, and the suspect are known to each other and officers are continuing to conduct inquiries.

A spokesman for Westlands Caravan Park, on the Canterbury Road, refused to comment.
