Police are hunting for a pair of Herne Bay burglars who use distraction to enter people's homes and steal cash.

It follows an incident last month when a 60-year-old man in Claremont Street received a knock at his door.

He was greeted by a man who asked if he could borrow a pen and paper to take down some details.

But after the man left the door, the homeowner realised that a cash box containing more than £100 was missing.

He believes a second person entered his home while he was distracted and stole the item.

He has since helped Kent Police to produce a computer generated E fit of one of the suspects.
