Herne Bay: Teenage girl assaulted outside railway station in The Circus

Two teenagers have been arrested after a girl was assaulted outside Herne Bay railway station.

The victim, a teenager, had arrived in the town via train and reported that as she stepped outside the station she was approached by a group of girls.

She was then assaulted, sustaining cuts and bruising to her head, before members of the public intervened.

The first suspect was described as a tall girl, wearing jeans, a blue coat and a grey hooded top underneath, with the hood up.

The second suspect was described as short, with black hair and brown eyes, and was wearing jeans.

The third suspect had blonde hair styled up in a bun. She was wearing a black coat and jeans.

Officers investigating an assault of a woman are appealing for drivers with dash cam footage.

Two girls aged 14 and 15 have been arrested in connection with the incident. Both have been released pending further enquiries.

Officers investigating the assault are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It happened between 4.15pm and 4.30pm on Sunday, February 4 outside Herne Bay railway station in The Circus.

Investigating officer PC Robert Linkins said: "It was reported that people stepped in to help the victim, so as part of our enquiries we would like to speak to them."
